OUR WINNERS AT THE WHATS ON STAGE AWARDS 2014

It’s that time of year when actors and creatives are rewarded for their hard work with red carpet appointments and glamorous award ceremonies. Yesterday, the 2014 What’s On Stage Awards were announced and we were delighted to see numerous plays featuring Scott Marshall clients amongst the winners.

Peter Morgan’s renowned success, The Audience, won Best New Play, featuring the acting talent of Michael Elwyn (as Sir Anthony Eden)and Rufus Wright (as David Cameron), alongside Ian William Galloway’s brilliant video design. Following the weekly audience between Queen Elizabeth II and the twelve Prime Ministers throughout her reign, The Audiencesaw Helen Mirren reprise her role as HRH at the Gielgud Theatre in February 2013.

The Samuel French Best Play Revival Award was gifted to To Kill A Mockingbird, performed at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre last May. Based on Harper Lee’s classic novel set in the American deep south, this inventive adaptation starred our own Julie Legrand, Christopher Ettridge and Tom Godwin .

Adapted from both the original play Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw, and Gabriel Pascal’s motion picture of the same name, My Fair Lady won The Tickets.com Best Regional Production for its run at the Sheffield Crucible in December. Starring the brilliant Louis Maskell as Freddy Eynsford-Hill, the musical follows the fortunes of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle as she is taken under the wing of Professor of phonetics Henry Higgins.
